CPF Alert & Safety Report

Report the right thing to the right place.

Use this page for short CPF alerts, suspicious activity and community safety concerns. It is not a replacement for reporting a crime to SAPS.

Immediate danger?

Call SAPS 10111.

Do not rely on this website for emergency dispatch. If a crime is in progress or someone is in immediate danger, contact SAPS directly.

Call 10111
For anonymous information about criminal activity, SAPS Crime Stop is 08600 10111.
Suspicious activity

Tell the CPF what you noticed.

A short local alert about suspicious behaviour, vehicles or activity that may help community awareness.

Community concern

Flag a safety issue.

Examples include poor lighting, overgrown areas, abandoned property or other local safety concerns.

Crime occurred

Report to SAPS first.

A CPF alert can be submitted after or alongside SAPS reporting, but this page does not open a SAPS case or replace a statement.

Short CPF intake

Keep it useful. Keep it concise.

The CPF only needs enough information to understand the local concern and decide whether it needs awareness, follow-up or referral.

Not a second statement

If a crime must be formally reported, SAPS is responsible for opening the case and taking the complainant's statement. This form is deliberately shorter.

01 — What are you reporting?
This does not report the crime to SAPS.

Formal crime reporting must still be done through SAPS. If you already have a SAPS/CAS reference, you may include it below so the CPF alert can be linked to the correct incident.

02 — What happened?
03 — Contact details

Optional, but useful if the CPF needs to clarify something.

Clear boundaries

CPF awareness is not SAPS case administration.

The system stores a short CPF record for community-safety purposes. It does not create a police case, replace a complainant statement, assign an investigating officer or generate a SAPS CAS number.
